Spotify launches Black History is Happening Now initiative
Posted on: 28 mars 2018, by : Stuart Dredge

Janelle Monae is the first curator for a new Spotify initiative called Black History is Happening Now.
She’ll get her own ‘hub’ within the music-streaming service to highlight her favourite established and emerging artists of colour, as well as a documentary film about the Afrofuturism movement.
There’s more to this initiative though: Spotify is also holding a ‘Sound Up Bootcamp’ in New York this June, for 10 women of colour with aspirations to build podcasting careers to get training and mentoring, before three of them get funding to make their podcasts for distribution on Spotify.
