LiveXLive approved for NASDAQ listing after Slacker acquisition

Digital music firm LiveXLive, which focuses on live-music videos as well as its recently-acquired streaming service Slacker Radio, has been approved to list on the public NASDAQ market.
Boss Rob Ellin described it as “an exciting and major milestone in our evolution that we believe will expose the company to a wider audience of potential institutional investors and increase liquidity, ultimately contributing to our ability to increase shareholder value”.
The news came just after the Los Angeles-based company published its latest financial results. In the final quarter of 2017, it reported zero revenues, and a net loss of $6.7m. LiveXLive didn’t report figures for the calendar year 2017, but instead published data for the last nine months of the year: revenues of $80.3k and a net loss of $13.8m for that period.

Deezer reveals new Singtel deal and Midemlab sponsorship

Deezer has announced its latest deal with a mobile operator: Singtel in Singapore. It’s not quite a hard bundle, but it’s more than just a marketing partnership.
Singtel’s post-paid customers will be able to pay 0.88 Singapore dollars a month (around US$0.66) for the first two months of a 12-month Deezer Premium subscription, then will pay 7.90 Singapore dollars (US$5.97) for the rest of that year – just over two Singapore dollars less than the standard monthly price of a streaming subscription there.

Shesaid.so seeks nominations for 2018 Alternative Power 100

Billboard’s recent Power 100 list of music-industry executives was criticised for being dominated by men. Now industry network Shesaid.so has opened nominations for its own Alternative Power 100 list – the second year for an initiative that aims for a more diverse selection of executives and creators within the industry.
It’s not just about gender. “This year’s overarching theme is ‘Intersections’, with a focus on traditionally under-represented communities such as people of colour, the LGBTQ community, those from lower economic backgrounds or with disabilities,” explained Shesaid.so as it opened the nominations process. “Nominations of men who support these values are more than welcome.”
