comScore study reveals tough landscape for new smartphone apps

The latest survey by research firm comScore has found that 51% of American smartphone owners download precisely zero new apps a month.
This isn’t a new trend – the figure this time last year was 49% – but it’s a reminder of how tough the market is for brand new mobile apps.
comScore noted that 13% of respondents only download one app a month, with 11% downloading two and 8% downloading three.
