Earlier this week we reported on D2C platform Bandcamp’s plans to protest against US president Donald Trump’s proposed ban on transgender people serving in the armed forces.
The company is donating 100% of its share of sales today (Friday 4 August) to the Transgender Law Center (TLC) to show its disgust for Trump’s new policy, which he announced on Twitter seemingly without consulting military leaders.
Now Bandcamp has announced that more than 200 artists and labels are joining its day of donations, giving their own share of sales to the TLC too. Some have gone further, donating their proceeds for the whole weekend or even the whole of August.
