Facebook has launched the latest update to its Messenger Platform for developers creating apps and bots for its messaging app.
Version 2.1’s new features include built-in natural language processing (NLP) to automatically detect certain phrases and information in messages from users: hello, bye, thanks, date & time, location, amount of money, phone number, email and a URL.
“This is the first step in bringing NLP capabilities to all developers, enabling brands to scale their experiences on Messenger,” explained Facebook in a blog post.
