Streaming drives US music consumption up 4.9% in 2016+PDFAmerican consumers confirmed their new found passion for streaming in 2016, with a record 250.7 billion audio streams tracked during the year, an 82.6% increase year-on-year, according to data measurement company BuzzAngle Music. There were more streams on any given day during 2016 (daily average of 1.2 billion) then there were song downloads for the entire year (734 million). “2016 was another successful year in music, with overall consumption rising 4.9% over 2015, marking the second year in a row with solid growth,” said BuzzAngle CEO Jim Lidestri, who attributes this growth to the “continued explosion” of audio stream consumption. BuzzAngle only provides consumption statistics, not related market value. The full market figures for 2017 will be published in the spring by the RIAA. Lidestri noted that “the transition to these new access methods has shown to provide overall growth and a sustainable business model for the future”. CES 2017: Streaming TV Enters the Age of AmazonABC If 2017 is the year streaming TV comes of age, Amazon looks poised to be its chaperone. At the opening media event of the annual Consumer Electronics Show on Tuesday, TheWrap came across two booths displaying similar-looking ultra-HD 4K smart TVs. One was from 130-year-old American brand Westinghouse, and the other from a relative startup called Element Electronics. But under the hood, they were both powered by the same Amazon engine: its Fire TV interface and Alexa smart voice assistant, which also works with pretty much every other smart home product, making it almost too convenient for the many smart TV owners who also have internet-enabled lights and appliances. Other competitors are hardly deferring to Amazon — Dish Network’s Sling TV is unveiling its AirTV Player peripheral this week, which blends a streaming box with an over-the-air receiver. Elle est en hausse de 2,2 % par rapport à septembre 2016 et de 23,9 % sur un an (+4,3 % pour les chaînes historiques et +43,0 % pour les chaînes TNT/TNT HD). Les chaînes historiques composent 41,4 % de l’offre en octobre. Sur un mois, l’offre est en hausse de 2,8 % à 18 341 heures pour les programmes de flux et en baisse de 1,1 % à 3 223 heures pour les programmes de stock. L’animation, le documentaire, la fiction et le cinéma constituent ainsi 14,9 % de l’offre de TVR en octobre. Les principales offres sont proposées par TF1, France Ô et M6 pour la fiction, par Gulli, France 4 et France 3 pour l’animation et par Arte, France 5 et Public Sénat pour le documentaire.
